The Limestone District School Board serves 22,000 students at 55 elementary and 11 secondary schools and the Limestone Community Education Centers in the Townships of Central Frontenac, Addington Highlands, North Frontenac, South Frontenac, Loyalist and Stone Mills, as well as the Town of Greater Napanee, the City of Kingston and the Frontenac Islands.
Frontenac Secondary School is a secondary school serving 1065 students in grades 9 through 12. The school opened in 1957 and has a long standing tradition of excellence in the areas of academics, post-secondary and career preparation, athletics and the arts.
The school offers programming in English. Students who have studied in Immersion French programming in elementary school can continue their studies with Extended and Immersion French programs at FSS. In grades 9 and 10, courses are offered at the academic, applied, locally developed and open levels. In grades 11 and 12, courses are offered at the university, university/college, college and workplace levels.
Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 carry a course load of four courses per semester. Grade 12 students who are on track for graduation may carry three courses in a semester.
