Grade 12 Graduation Information
Posted on 06/11/2021

Following are the plans we have to celebrate our 2020-2021 graduates. Please note that these plans have been developed in conjunction with KFL&A Public Health guidelines and protocols. Graduation will be celebrated virtually with a graduation video and also on social media (Instagram and Twitter). Graduates will also have an opportunity to graduate individually in-person at the school, outdoors in the courtyard, using a drive-up system. We have arranged to have two large event tents set up in case of bad weather.

Our graduation event will be on June 23rd or June 24th, depending on which day students choose to attend. On the day of their graduation, each student will have an opportunity to come to the school, put on their gown, sign the “grad mural”, receive their diploma (and awards), and take some photos.

We have set up an online booking site where students and up to two support people (e.g. parents/ guardians) can choose a time to participate on either Wednesday, June 23rd or Thursday, June 24th. The link to this booking page is below:

The individualized graduation event will take place at the back courtyard entrance of the school (please see blue circled area in the diagram below). Graduates and up to two support people (e.g. parents/ guardians) will drive to the back of the school where they will be greeted by a staff member and directed to park in one of the designated spots near the courtyard entrance. Please enter from the east-side parking lot (see red arrows in diagram below) and do not arrive more than five (5) minutes prior to your booked time.

Please stay in the lane and remain in your vehicle; do not park elsewhere and approach on foot. If families who live close would prefer to walk to the school, they will be added in order of their booked time and should proceed to the courtyard area upon arrival.

On the day of your graduation, you will be asked to follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Before you arrive, attendees must self-assess for any symptoms of COVID-19. Graduates and their two guests must follow all health protocols including masking, hand-sanitizing and distancing.

Step 2: After parking in the designated spot, graduates and their two guests will be directed to an area to receive their gowns. We are requesting families contribute $20.00 in order to offset the cost of the cap and gown. Caps and gowns will be for graduates to keep. Please bring exact change as we will not be able to provide change.

Step 3: Students will autograph a “grad mural” that is located near one of the back entrances to the school by the cafeteria.

Step 4: Graduates will meet with Mr. Bonham-Carter to receive their diploma and any other certificates and awards typically presented at graduation. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to take photos.

Step 5: Students and their two guests will then return to their cars and drive west along the back of the school to exit.

Please note that students should return any devices, textbooks, library books, or other materials on this day and an area will be set up near the courtyard to receive these items.

For graduates who are unable to attend, you will be able to pick up your diploma, along with any awards and/or certificates at the main office (look for the pickup window) of the school during the first week of the summer. Office hours are Monday to Friday 7:30-3:00. The office will be closed Canada Day.

We are looking forward to seeing you at graduation!
