Falcons! The 2025-2026 yearbooks are now on sale! You can buy one by scanning a QR code on one of the posters around the school. Each yearbook costs $45 and the last day to buy a yearbook is on April 30th. Don’t miss your chance! 

Grade 12’s, Grad Quotes are due April 17th! Scan the QR code on posters in your Homeroom or in Student Services! We want to see your chosen quote, your favourite childhood movie, and your future plans.

Attention Writers! Whether you be aspiring authors, poets, in fiction or memoir, come write in Frontenac's Creative Writing contest on April 29th periods three and four! Entries will be anonymously judged by local authors, and the top submission in each category — short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction — will win a prize! 

Get even further involved in FSS's growing writing community by coming to the writing workshops every Wednesday in room 135 leading up to the competition.  

This week the focus is on writing poetry.  Everyone is welcome. Don't miss out on this epic opportunity!   

 

AP English Prep meets this Thursday after school in 135.  Join us for treats, good times, and rigorous academic discussion of the AP English Literature & Composition exam! 

 

The level 100 Band Meets tonight after school from 2:30 to 3:30 pm!

The Junior Boys Soccer team had a good start to their season on Friday in the Icebreaker tournament. They showed maturity, determination and a surprising resistance to hypothermia playing in dropping temperatures, wind, and a lot of rain. It’s going to be a great season! 

 

This is an important reminder for any students participating in the Literacy Test rewrite this week. Please arrive at the Library by 8:15 am. Don’t forget to bring your charged school laptop. If you do not have one, there will be extras available for you to use. Please see Ms. Depew if you have any questions.

This week we will focus on writing poetry, from freeverse to song lyrics and everything in between.  Bring your lunch and join us tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Room 135.

If you signed up for a dual credit next year—or are interested in learning how you can earn both a high school elective and a college credit at the same time—please book an appointment with your Guidance Counsellor to complete your application.

The Limestone District School Board Indigenous Team will be hosting a special event on Thursday, April 30th during Period 2 in the Library. Recruiters from Loyalist College, St. Lawrence College, and Queen’s University will be visiting to share information about programs, supports, and future pathways. This is a great opportunity to explore your options after high school—plus, snacks and drinks will be provided! 

The English Department is heading to the Stratford Festival on May 21st and 22nd, and you’re invited! We’ll be seeing two incredible shows, The Tempest and Something Rotten!, and taking part in a behind-the-scenes workshop. 

If you’re interested or want more information, stop by the English office to see Ms. Cavers or Ms. Dembinski. The deadline to sign up is May 1st, and spots are limited, so don’t miss your chance to experience world-class theatre, and explore the town of Stratford! 

There will be an important meeting tomorrow at lunch for any boys who play basketball this year at FSS. Also, if you have made arrangements with Mr. Bennett to volunteer timing and scorekeeping May 8-10 weekend please also plan on attending the meeting to sign up for your shifts!  

Jr. Boys soccer made FSS proud yesterday! We started the season off right with 0 cards and 2 goals in a win against Regiopolis-Notre Dame. Shout out to awesome keeper Aiden Laird-Bresee! Watch the Google Classroom at 3 pm for the decision on practice today!

Any senior business student interested in attending a presentation from a former FSS student who is now the Chief Marketing Office for Cabot Golf, come see Ms. McCormick in the business office. The presentation is Tuesday, period 4 in room 276. 

AP English Exam Prep is running TOMORROW, after school, in Ms. Cavers’ room (135).  Only three weeks left until the AP English Literature Exam – come on out and hone those writing and analytical skills (and enjoy some treats & great conversation!).

There will also be a brief meeting at lunch tomorrow Thusday April 16th in room 176 to go over details and dates. Please make sure you attend and collect a permission form.

The Junior Girls soccer team played their season opener against Regi yesterday. After a bit of a slow start, the girls found their groove and dominated the play. Congratulations to the team for their intense and strong team play. The junior girls ended the game with a 6-1 win. 

And the Senior Girls soccer team also played their season opener against Regi yesterday. It was an intense game where our Falcons showed strong passing and communication. Brooklyn Niemy secured the 2-0 win by scoring both goals. And our defence worked hard to ensure goalie Marley Murray made her KASSAA debut with a shutout. Well done Falcons!  

The Senior Girls Rugby team had a strong start to their KASSAA season yesterday against LaSalle with a 39 – 0 win. Tries scored by Jenna Martin, Lucy Shillington, Olivia Kyte, Delaney Brule, Vic McCourt and Evelyn Moore. Conversions made by Olivia Kyte. What an amazing first game, looking forward to the rest of the season.
