IMG 4907Welcome back Falcons!

We are excited to be rolling into another school year at Frontenac! We'd like to thank students, families and our entire staff for a very smooth and positive start to the school year. Whether you are a returning student, or joining us for the first time, we hope you are finding your place and settling into the semester 1 routine. We are fortunate to have many devoted educators and support staff in our building who are committed to making a positive difference in each student's life this school year. Please read this biweekly newsletter and clink this link to see our daily morning announcements regularly for upcoming events and activities all year long at FSS!

We take pride in the excellent attendance that our students and their families establish at FSS. Beginning next week, we will resume the attendance policy that was established during the 2024-2025 school year. Following the implementation of this policy, FSS families reported being more aware of their child's attendance patterns (especially lates and unexcused absences), staff noted marked improvement in students arriving to class on time, and students achieved higher levels of success in their courses.

FSS Attendance Policy: Parents/guardians are asked to log in and report any late arrivals, early departures or full day absences to our SafeArrival app. Please click here for instructions on how to report your child's attendance. If the late/absence is not approved by a parent, the student will be assigned a 40 min lunch time detention within the next week. Students are encouraged to bring school work to their detention to make up for the missed class time. Students who miss their detention will be referred to a vice-principal for further follow up which may include enhanced academic support, attendance counsellor referral, or progressive discipline. The FSS Daily Schedule can be found here.

Terry Fox Run 2025

In 1980, Terry had a dream of a world without cancer. Forty-five years later, Terry's Marathon of Hope lives on. If we work together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many. Please help fund critical cancer research in Canada by supporting Frontenac's participation in the 2025 Terry Fox School Run.  Crossing the finish line means hope for everyone with cancer. Together, we can Finish It.

Frontenac’s Terry Fox Run is happening on Friday, September 26 at 9:00 AM, and we’re rallying together to raise $3,000 in support of cancer research.

If you’re able to contribute, we’d be incredibly grateful. You can:

  • Make a digital donation through our school’s Terry Fox fundraising page https://schools.terryfox.ca/105322
  • Encourage your child to bring a donation to their homeform class

Every dollar brings us closer to Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. Thank you for your support!

Thriving in Grade 9 Day

thumbnail IMG 2853On Tuesday, September 16th, all grade 9 students will participate in a fun filled morning developed by staff and student leaders. The aim of this day is to meet new people, hear from student mentors about strategies for success in high school, and have fun. All grade 9 students are encouraged to wear Garnet & Grey and bring their water bottle and positive spirit for a fun morning. A pizza lunch will be provided for all grade 9 students. If there is inclement weather Tuesday, we will reschedule the event for Friday. At this time weather looks good, so we are looking forward to a great day!

Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon T-shirts

Did you notice the awesome “Once a Falcon, Always a Falcon” t-shirts staff were wearing on the first day of school?  They’re now for sale on School Day!  Log in to purchase your own shirt for $22.00.  The proceeds go towards our very own School to Community class.  Orders close on September 19th, and shirts will be available for pick up on October 7th after school. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Leon's Kingston for their generous support of this school initiative. Thank you everyone for your support!
