This is the final newsletter for the first semester. We sincerely wish all of our students the best of luck as they wrap up their culminating activities. Having written that, "luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." At Frontenac we will do all that we can to prepare students to succeed for the opportunities that present themselves. You can do your part at home to promote success by helping to ensure that students are well fed, rested, and strike a healthy balance of study and break time.

FSS Semester 1 Exams - January 2026

The finalized FSS January 2026 Exam Schedule is now available.  All students are expected to be available to attend and write their final exams, as these are critical components of their courses. Exams will start promptly at 8:15am and 11:30am. Please arrive to school in enough time to get to your exam location.

FSS Exam Information

We are strongly discouraging students from bringing in electronic devices to school/exam writing locations during the exam period. Traditionally, this has meant cellphones. We have noticed an increase of students wearing smart watches and smart glasses. While AI technology can offer some benefits, these devices are prohibited during exams and could result in a loss of credit. We thank you for your support ensuring the integrity of our exams at Frontenac.

Students that do not have exams on assigned days are encouraged to be elsewhere. We will be attempting to keep the building as quiet as possible and will be directing staff to help with proctoring, scribing, completing final grades and preparing for semester two. Thank you as always for supporting Frontenac Secondary School.

Student Services

  • Semester 2 is quickly approaching and it's time for students to finalize their timetables. Student Services will be open for appointments over the exam period. Students in need of a timetable change are asked to book an appointment with their Guidance Counsellor using the following LINK. Our goal is to have all timetable changes completed by the end of the first week of semester 2 so please encourage your students to see their Guidance Counsellor before the semester starts.
  • The deadline to apply to Ontario Colleges is quickly approaching! Any grade 12's or returners considering applying should see Ms. Lackey in Student Services before the February 1st deadline with any questions.
